Who are we?
Throughout California we are made up by a diverse community, diverse thoughts, and diverse beliefs. Most of the people in California are considered to be Democratic. Although in some parts of California there are others who are Republican and it varies on with the population and the county. Within the state it is known that the north votes Democratic and the south tends to vote Republican According to the website, Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC); about 64% of the senators in the United States are Democrats. Within the Democratic people in California there is a variety of liberal or conservative beliefs. There is data that is shown in this website that the average in California are more on the conservative side.
The residents in California are divided among each other with a very close percent of being in the middle. When it comes to taxes there is about 48% who are willing to pay more and there are about 43% who say that they want to pay less. When it comes to immigrants, there are about 48% who say that they are a burden on the state and 44% who say they are a benefit.
In the area of social and fiscal issues; within the social issue there is the topic about abortion and gay marriage and within the fiscal issue there are the topics of the government size and the way “the use of spending cuts to address the state budget deficit.” (http://www.ppic.org)
There are five groups within California with different opinions. There is about 18% of state’s population who are loyal liberal within both issues, 24% are moderate liberal within both social and fiscal issues. Then there is 25% of those who are conservative liberal, they are conservative within the social issues and then they are liberal within the fiscal issues. There are 17% who are moderate conservative, they are liberal on the social issue and conservative within the fiscal issues. Lastly, 15% who are committed conservative in both the social and fiscal issues.

On the survey that was conducted by the PPIC, it showed that within the Republican group there was an average of about 14%, who were identified as liberals. There were other places who were at less than 10%. Within the counties of Los Angeles, Monterey, Imperial, and the Bay Area there are more liberal Republicans.
There is a diversity within the Democrats. There is a 9% of conservative Democrats. Those who live on the eastern side of San Bernardino County make up of 40%. Those who live in the Imperial County make up for 35%. The ones who live on the eastern Riverside County make up for a 30%.
