What surrounds us?
Within this beautiful state of California we have beautiful nature around us. Where ever we go an where ever we look we tend to see many mountains. According to The Mountains of California website, “there are two major ranges of mountains in California: The Sierra Nevada and the Coast Ranges.”
The Coast Ranges being by the northwest of Del Norte County and tends to go along the south of the Mexican border. The climate within the coastal mountains tend to benefit from the climate conditions. In varies between the increased rainfall, the fog cooling the hot valleys that are on the east of this mountains.
The Sierra Nevada takes over one fifth of the whole state! This is the largest mountain range that we have in California. There tends to be snow covering the peaks of this mountains when winter comes. This is the beautiful mountain that we see covered in white snow.
Besides these two big ranges of mountains there are also the Mammoth Mountain that is on the west close to the Sierra Nevada crest.
We also have the Mount Whitney that is also located by the Sierra Nevada. This is where the USS Mount Whitney was constructed
